Note: The Team Render Client will always be made available for installation. A serial number is not required.
And from page 17: Tip: A new installation of Team Render Client is not required on each individual computer that will be used as a client. Simply manually copy the existing “Cinema 4D Team Render Client R17“ installation directory in its entirety onto each computer you want to use as a client. On Windows Server 2012 R2: When I run the installer, I don't see an option for installing Server or Client just the four primary versions. And once installed, there are four executables in the directory: Client, Server, Application, and Command Line.
Double-clicking on any of the first three launches the corresponding interface. UPDATE: After I enter the serial number and go to the next page, then I get the CINEMA 4D, Team Render Server, Team Render Client options. So at least that first blurb about not requiring a serial number is incorrect. FINAL UPDATE: Installed the client on the second machine ( after entering the serial number) and it installed cleanly. Double-clicked to run the server on my desktop, they connected easily, and successfully completed a render.
So it's just that little glitch in the manual.
